So this post will be pretty short and sweet, but I’ve had this convo with a ton of people lately and thought I’d share! First off, I cannot take credit for this remarkable breakthrough, one of my close friends forced me to try it and I fell in love. Since then, I’ve converted serval friends of mine away from coffee and have heard great feedback as well!
To give you a little background, my entire life I have been a coffee lover. Not just a lover though, like a Starbucks gold star, Keurig fanatic, spends $45 on the Venti tumbler, has every coffee pun mug out there, #ButFirstCoffee, has a count down for pumpkin spice, basic biiiih kind of lover. If I had a list of top ten things I’d never give up in life, coffee would be like, number four… you get the picture.
Like most foods or drinks, there are pros and cons to both. Pros of drinking coffee? the caffeine will wake you up, it’s full of antioxidants that have numerous health benefits including decreasing heart disease, and it helps with memory. BUT this is for plain black coffee. The biggest problem is what you put into it; sweetener, creamer, etc. Some of the other health concerns, which are way more visible, include:
- Increase osteoporosis
- Interference with sleep
- Raises blood pressure
- High acidity
- Bad breathe
- Stained teeth
After looking more into the health benefits v health concerns, it got me thinking. Does coffee REALLY make me feel better? Or am I just hooked on the caffeine? Are these health benefits actually worth it? My answer, no. SO, I made the switch!
Why I Chose Tea
Again, shout out to my friend that put me on this path because I am NEVER going back! I have been without coffee for almost six months now and I could be not be happier – it has truly become my form of balance. I love how versatile it is because I can drink it at any time of the day, even before I go to bed. I seriously have not had a single coffee craving yet! Not only do I love all the flavor options, I LOVE the benefits, and I feel GREAT! Check them out…

- Less caffeine, so no crashing
- Boost exercise endurance
- Keeps your heart healthy
- Protects your bones
- Can help loss weight
- Helps with your immune system

- With nothing added, it’s calorie free
- It hydrates
- It’s lighter
- Keeps your teeth white, and can actually help brighten them
- And no bad breathe!
If you aren’t convinced yet, try it out yourself! My go to in the morning is Tazo Earl Grey with a hint of lavender, fresh mint leaves, splash of lemon and a touch of honey! Are you team coffee or team tea? Why do you like it? I’d love to hear from you!
Be confidently you,
*My friend that got be hooked on tea, also got me hooked on these adorable, jumbo, clear tea cups. Can you tell I want to be just like her?? I threw in two of my favorite mugs (the bigger the better) as well, because, why not? Enjoy!
